About Us

Our Story

I was born and raised in Albany. I have been married to my wife, April, for 20 years and we now have 3 girls. Ella is 17, Addie is 15 and Abigail is 9.

Seems like from the time I could walk I was on a job site with my dad. At that age I was playing in the sand set out for the mason. Back then my dad worked for my grandfather building houses and remodeling. This was back when builders did most of the work themselves. They would frame the houses, install siding, roofing, insulation, sheetrock, trim work, flooring and so on.

When my grandfather passed away in the early 90’s my dad transitioned into doing trim work full time. I was older at this time, and trim work is a trade that I learned and became very skilled. During these years I did trim work for a lot of builders and I was able to learn a lot from them… learning a lot of what to do, as well as what not to do.

When the housing market tanked in ‘08 I decided it was time to try and diversify a little and so I started taking on small remodel jobs. I really enjoyed doing remodels, and before long that became a big part of my business. By this time, I had already built several houses from the ground up and being in the industry my whole life I felt it was what I most desired to do. For the last several years I have built many houses while continuing the remodel work as well.

I have tried to model my business similar to the way my grandfather and dad ran theirs. I have a crew of guys that work for me directly and we still do a lot of the work ourselves “in house”. I believe this is better because it allows me more control in delegating what needs to be done each day and also keeps the same people on the same jobs. The customer benefits from this model because my workers are more familiar with their job, and the customer gets to know a much smaller group of workers.

When building new homes, I try and concentrate on custom houses. I really love working with people, the construction and the thought process that goes into each unique home. I love building homes that are built specifically for the needs and likes of each family. In most cases a home is the most important and biggest investment that someone will make. I think about this every day, and I do not take this lightly. I really enjoy what I do, and I plan to build houses for many years to come.
